Love the older seamasters. Timeless design. My go to is a datejust 41 azurro blue. My first Rolex.

Agreed, this as well as the 2254 and '57 seamasters are the best imo. Thats a beauty, nice one

I grew up with James Bond, and brosnan was always my fave (behind connery of course) and his always had rhe coolest gadgets. By the time I'd gotten into watches I had owned loads of homages and wanted a 2531 homage till o saw the prices of these were around the 2.5k range with box and papers so I was like damn I should save for one and voila :) Thats an awesome piece man! My first ever custom built waych I did for myself was a 1016 Explrer homage which kicked everything off for me so I have a special love for that design! Awesome to hear things are on the up

haha nice I am of the brosnan generation too (90s kid). You've got yourself quite the classic. So by your name you do mods? the 1016 is gorgeous...insane proportions. How did you build your homage? I've considered getting the smiths everest for fun as well before and since smiths is a big part of the explorer history

I'm only just one being in '99 haha. I do mods indeed yeah, it's the same thing on insta where I post all of them and various other bits :) I bought a bundle from Namoki that is like the oyster perp style and wrnt from there, I've got the modern dial in at the moment and I'm going to gey a vintage style case to do my 1016 again as I quite miss having thst design around. Yeah the smiths everest was something I almost bought a few times prior to modding/building my own pieces

ah interesting what a cool hobby. so are you able to service your watches? I imagine you don't service something like your omega though maybe too much risk?

I can sort of "service" movements. I'm still sort of practising and perfecting that craft but I've got a couple non-running NH series movements I use to practise on :) I wouldn't try my omega though no, maybe in 5 years 😅😅

haha yeah definitely don't want to mess it up but imagine the money you can save once you're ready or even the money you can make!

Very nice! I've built a couple watches using dials inspired by that reference series with the roman numeral minute track they're my fave honestly. I'll have to have a look into them a little more for sure :)

hmm interesting I am not too familiar with the different datejust references. what made you pick this reference? just the dial that caught your eye?

Yeah the dial mostly. I love the modern versions but the ones with the lume pip and metal index vs the fully lumed was amazing. Thst vintage style is stunning
